Chairman & Chief Executive OfficerUpon taking over the leadership of Henegan from her father in 1991, Maureen had served the company in various capacities — including as legal counsel, financial officer, marketing and communications manager, project manager, and administrative assistant — since 1975. As Chairman and CEO, she has assembled a winning team of talent that has grown and developed the company’s reputation to the preeminent status it maintains within the construction industry today and has received accolades on behalf of Henegan confirming its esteem. She serves on the Boards of the NY Building Congress, Nontraditional Employment for Women (“NEW”), the Building Contractors Association NY (“BCA”), the College of Mount St. Vincent, and Covenant House NY. She is a member of the NYS Bar Association, Young Presidents Organization (YPO), and several other construction/ real estate industry associations, including CoreNet, IFMA, CREW-NY, and WX. Maureen holds degrees from Albany Law School and the College of Mount St. Vincent, studied Construction Management and Real Estate at NYU, and pursued executive-level continuing studies at Harvard Business School. Before joining the company full time in 1986, she worked as an attorney in NY State government and in private practice. Maureen is LEED AP.

Vice-ChairmanWith over 40 years of experience in construction – from building houses, to complex building infrastructure projects, to large-scale, intricate, and fast-track tenant improvements – Paul is truly an expert in building teams as well as projects. He is known for his professionalism, integrity, and direct communications with both clients and colleagues. Many a Henegan estimator, project manager and field superintendent have been guided by his expertise in scheduling, cost control, quality control, and all aspects of serving our commercial and institutional clientele. Paul joined the company in 1992 as COO but was not new to Henegan at that time. He had been a project manager, with the firm 10 years earlier, when a prestigious financial client of the company recognized his leadership talents and invited him to join their team as a real estate, construction, and facilities executive. A native of Northern Ireland, Paul is actively involved in the Irish-American community and is an avid golfer.

President & Chief Operating OfficerMichael joined Henegan in 1998 and is now responsible for the successful fulfillment of all bidding, estimating, and budgeting functions of the company. He manages our response to all client invitations to bid, to submit proposals, and to personally present our proposals, teams, and credentials. With over 25 years in the industry, he is known for his ability to analyze and deliver complex technical projects under the most demanding time constraints while still maintaining an outstanding finished product. For years, he was dedicated solely to one client account – the world’s largest and most influential financial services firm – with the responsibility for nearly one million square feet of buildout, including numerous high-profile special projects. He was instrumental in Henegan’s twice receiving that firm’s prestigious Five Star Vendor Service Quality Award – the first ever bestowed on a construction company. Michael earned his BS in Applied Sciences in Engineering from Rutgers University.

Executive Vice PresidentTom’s role at Henegan is one of leading, mentoring, and guiding future leaders of the company and actively using his wisdom and experience to see several significant and prestigious projects through to fruition. He has more than 35 years of experience in the construction industry, working both in field supervision and construction project management. Since Tom joined Henegan in 1992, he has managed many large-scale interior renovation projects as well as on-call corporate accounts. His education and sensibilities as an artist and craftsman combined with his rigorous front-lines construction experience and attention to detail bring much value to any project in all areas of design, technical execution, and quality control. Tom earned his BFA degree from the San Francisco Art Institute, studied in the MFA programs at SFAI and SFSU, and pursued Construction Management studies at NYU. He is OSHA 30 certified.

Executive Vice PresidentDavid leads our MEPS (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Sprinkler) Department. He joined the company in 2000, having worked several years for a highly regarded design and consulting engineering firm. He has successfully managed and overseen many complex projects throughout the United States. His meticulous, detailed and results-oriented approach to technical issues of design, construction, value engineering, and quality have earned him a reputation as one of the best in NYC when it comes to projects that involve mission-critical facilities, emergency disaster recovery efforts, data centers, UPS battery systems, diesel engine generators, fuel pumping systems, transfer switching, fire alarm and security systems, and all matters of building infrastructure. David is a licensed Electrical Engineer (P.E.). He holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from the Manhattan College School of Engineering. Member: NSPE. OSHA 10 and 30 certified.

Senior Vice President – Business DevelopmentArt is renowned in the real estate, design, and construction community for his relationship and network-building skills and warm hospitality. It is fitting, then, that his mission at Henegan since joining the company full-time in 1991 has been to maintain and grow existing client relationships, develop new ones, and represent Henegan well in the industry community. Mr. Thomson is a graduate architect who, before joining Henegan, had over 25 years of corporate facilities experience for Fortune 500 companies where he managed architectural and design services, coordinated the construction and maintenance of owned and leased facilities, and implemented large annual capital budgets. Art is actively involved in the NY Chapter of CoreNet Global and contributes much of his time in the support of his favorite causes: SHARE (serving those afflicted with breast and ovarian cancers and their families) and St. Francis Food Pantries. He earned his Bachelor of Architecture degree from Cooper Union College, New York.

Senior Vice President – Project ManagementRob’s experience in construction management consists of large-scale, multimillion-dollar civil and building projects as well as facilities renovations. He joined Henegan in 2004 and is well versed in troubleshooting contract changes, maintaining schedules, coordinating with project agencies and other parties, and meeting the clients’ needs for communication, efficiency, and cost control. His duties include leading and guiding other Henegan team members in their Project Management and client-serving responsibilities. Rob is also a recently retired U.S. Air Force Lieutenant Colonel, having successfully completed 20 years of combined service both on Active Duty and as a Reservist. His military experiences as a career Civil Engineer Officer, Squadron Commander, and Emergency Preparedness Liaison Officer (EPLO) for the State of Connecticut have had an immeasurable impact in shaping his leadership and management abilities. He is a Licensed Civil Engineer (P.E.) and holds a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering from Villanova University. Member, A.S.C.E. LEED-AP. OSHA 30 certified.

Senior Vice President – OperationsAs Senior VP – Operations, John is responsible for the staffing, safety, and on-site functioning of all Henegan field operations. He joined Henegan in 2000 and has successfully scheduled and completed projects involving small relocations and renovations as well as complete multi-floor buildouts for financial institutions and other institutional and corporate clientele. Prior to his time at Henegan, he successfully completed land development and ground-up construction projects. He holds a Bachelor of Architecture degree from NY Institute of Technology. Vice President – Special ProjectsRay joined Henegan in 2004 and brings to his job as our VP – Special Projects a unique background that includes a professional education and over 35 years experience working in design, owner-side management, and administration in corporate, public, and private sectors, and as a hands-on builder. He has an innate sense of logistics, coordination, and scheduling and relates well to the requirements of Owner, Architect, Engineer, and Subcontractor. He has orchestrated the successful completion of many significant projects, including, notably, a Co-Generation Power Plant built on Riker’s Island for the NYC Department of Corrections. Ray holds Master’s degrees in Business Administration (MBA, Adelphi U.) and Civil Engineering (MSCE, Manhattan College) and a BS in Architecture Technology from NY Institute of Technology. He is 10-hour and 30-hour OSHA certified.

Vice PresidentPaul’s work at Henegan involves executive and general office renovation for brokerage, legal, financial, insurance and communication firms. He brings to the management team an expertise in scheduling methods, subcontractor management, on-site management and change order analysis. His work at Henegan includes long-time relationships with UBS, First Data Corporation and other financial firms, to unique projects for organizations like the National Basketball Players Association. Paul received his B.A. from Boston College and his J.D. from Fordham University Law School. In addition to his breadth of knowledge in the field, Paul is a WELL and LEED Accredited Professional.

Vice President - Business Development & MarketingBill is an experienced real estate, design, and construction executive with more than 30 years of management success with construction, architecture, engineering, and Fortune 500 companies. As Henegan’s Vice President of Business Development & Marketing, Bill oversees marketing planning, communications design, direct sales, and client management. A conscientious team-player, Bill is skilled at utilizing technology, design, marketing, and sales to create new business opportunities, build relationships and drive revenues. Bill is involved with Big Brothers and Big Sisters and Friendly Sons of St. Patrick of NYC. He is trained in mechanical engineering, construction management, and marketing communications, and holds a degree from Franklin and Marshall College and an MBA.

Chief Legal Officer & Corporate SecretaryCate reports directly to the CEO and President on all legal matters and works closely with senior management advising on potential legal liability, legal rights, and obligations of the company. She is involved in most projects, drafting or reviewing and often negotiating all contracts and subcontracts. She also manages outside counsel handling corporate matters as well as insurance claims and litigation. Cate is admitted to the NYS Bar, the U.S. District Court, Southern and Eastern District of NY, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 2nd Circuit. She is a member of the NYS Bar Association, the NYC Bar Association, and the American Bar Association. She has been a featured speaker for NYS Bar Association programs and has served for two terms on the Construction Law Committee of the NYC Bar Association. Prior to joining Henegan full-time in 2001, Cate was a partner in a law firm specializing in construction and employment litigation, as well as all aspects of corporate and commercial law. She earned her JD degree at Wake Forest University School of Law and her BA in English at LeMoyne College.

Chief Financial Officer & TreasurerAs CFO of Henegan, Steven reports directly to the CEO and President on all financial, human resources, and compliance matters. A CPA, he is responsible for maintaining the company’s strong balance sheet and closely monitoring income and profitability, as well as the efficiency of internal processes. Prior to joining the company full-time in 2014, Steven worked as a “part-time CFO” consultant, a transition planning advisor, and in financial management, internal audit, treasury, finance, and accounting positions for various real estate, manufacturing, and logistics companies, both public and closely held. Steven is active as an officer of the NY Chapter of the Construction Financial Management Association (CFMA) and has served his home community of Tinton Falls, N.J., in various elected roles. He is a certified SCUBA diver and an avid golfer. He received his BBA in Accounting from Bernard Baruch College of the City University of N.Y.

Director of Safety & RiskDarrell has more than 38 years of experience in the construction industry and now runs Henegan’s Safety & Risk Program, reporting directly to the President. Our safety motto, “PLAN SAFE – LIVE SAFE,” is his mission and is the name of our program designed to eliminate, not just reduce, all risk. Darrell is an active member of NYC’s Construction, Demolition & Crane code compliance team and has assisted the NYC Department of Buildings as well as OSHA in the development of rules and laws relating to workplace health and safety. Prior to joining HCC, he held positions as a safety director during tower crane and steel erections, as a regional manager of Environmental Safety Consultants, as a senior project safety manager at Turner Construction (spearheading one of the nation’s leading ICRA/ILSM training programs), as corporate safety director at L+M Development Partners Inc., and as director of safety and risk at Fields/Katerra. Darrell was also a Professional Safety Trainer for Pro Safety Services LLC, training over 500 workers in NYC’s Local Law 196 and in OSHA 30. He is the founder of his own firm, a consultant and risk reduction “architect” for firms nationwide, as well as of High-Risk Consultant, a non-for-profit engaged in safety training for NYC Courts’ UpNext workforce training program. He is a NYC licensed Site Safety Coordinator and a FDNY Fire Safety Manager. Darrell carries a certification in mechanical engineering from Central Arizona University, is a certified OSHA Outreach Trainer through Rutgers School of Public Health, and is a certified crane operator (NCCCO).

Chief EstimatorTatyana is responsible for the day-to-day workflow of our Estimating Department. She joined Henegan as a Senior Estimator in 2009 and has over 26 years of progressive experience in construction and engineering. Recognized for her exceptional ability to manage capital, budgetary and conceptual cost estimates, and proposal pricing, she handles negotiations and buy-outs with both clients and subcontractors. She earned her MS in Mechanical Engineering from Polytechnical University in Minsk, Belarus.
